Doughnut dumplings

Who doesn’t like doughnuts??? If you DOUGHNUT (ha get it) like nutella and doughnuts well.. your missing a lot. Today I am going to show you how I made these doughnut balls that I made couple days ago and my siblings really likes them so I wanted to share them with you. let me know at comments if you tried them out and how did it go with you xx.

  • Also a little disclaimer this takes 1.5 hours to do because it needs to rest.2016-02-26_12.17.23_1-1-1[1]

  • 250g Flour(any one will work)
  • sachet yeast
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 75 ml.water (Luke warm)
  • 2 eggs
  • 15 ml butter
  • any filling you want(nutella, jam etc.)

Start by mixing all ingredients except the butter together, when you get a little doughy mixture add butter while mixing you either can do this in a kitchen aid or, with your clean hands. After you have made a dough knead till it is a  elastic dough so you just want it to be stretchy. Once you’ve kneaded it you want to put it in a bowl and cover it to rest for an hour, if you have done the mistake I made by using cold water instead of warm water the yeast won’t really do its job by raising the dough, so what you would do if it is sunny outside out it near the window, and if it is not sunny you want to put the oven on then close it and put the bowl inside make sure it is a Pyrex bowl or a heat proof bowl.

Once the dough have been chilling you want to carefully get it out of the bowl, and make 12 little balls, then you will put them on a tray lined with baking sheets, putting it back in the warm oven or a room temperature space leaving them to rest for an extra 30 mins.

After your timer is gone off you will fill up a pot with oil let it heat up the put a small piece of dough or bread and once it sizzles that means its ready to get frying. So you will put the dumplings to fry be very careful not burn yourself, once they are golden brown you will put it in sugar to cover it them put it on a side repeat with the rest. Now its to fill them you will take a knife and make a whole at them center of the dumpling then using a pipping bag and a small nozzle fill in what  ever you want I opted for nutella you can use jam, peanut butter or you can make your own filling its really up to you. After you’ve filled them put them one a nice dish and you now can enjoy them.
